Q: Ovulation pain?
Do any of you get ovulation pain and if so, do you get gassy with it? I get pain on the side, right at ovulation time so I assume that it is ovulation pain. But I also get gassy and I hate it! After the day I ovulate, my pain and gassiness is gone. Just wondering what the rest of you ladies experience. Thanks!
A: YES! A lot of sharp pains that come and go through out the ovulation time. Sometimes its just on the left side, sometimes on the right. I don’t get gassy, but the pain and pressure is similar to gas. Goodness, the things we women have to endure!! Take care
Q: Ovulation Pain?
I was just wondering how long does ovulation pain usually last in most women? I was curious to know how different the time is between different women. Thank you
mine usually last 6 hours to one day, is that sound normal
A: ovulation pain feels like sharp pains in the lower left or right side of the abdomen. it feels like a prick. it can happen 2- 1 week before ur period.
Q: ovulation pain?
i went on birth control pills about two years ago and just stopped taking them the 13 of Sept. my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex ever since i stopped taking the pills. at the end of the month i had some pains like stretching a pulling or something. i was wondering if it was ovulation cramping or implantation cramping. i also had a little spotting too. i never had ovulation pain before i got on the pill.
A: I am currently experiencing ovulation pain now, and it is very sharp, and usually on the right side of your lower abdomen, but you ovulate like 14 days after the first day your period started, so if your period started on Oct. 1st, you would ovulate around the 14th of the month, give or take a few days.
Q: How long does ovulation pain last and what can I do to relieve the pain?
I have a bad pain in my lower right abdomen which I’m presuming is ovulation pain. I’m supposed to be going to my friends birthday party in about 4 hours and if my pains carry on like this I’m not going to be able to go, I can hardly stand up straight. How can I relieve the pain?
A: About one in five women experience pain and discomfort during ovulation. The duration of the pain varies from one woman to the next, but ranges from a few minutes to 48 hours. In most cases, ovulation pain doesn’t mean that anything is wrong.
However, severe pain may sometimes be symptomatic of gynaecological conditions including endometriosis, which was the cause for painful ovulation and periods I experienced for nearly a year before I decided to seek help from my doctor and gynaecologist.
I would recommend that you consult with your doctor/gynaecologist if your ovulation pain lasts longer than three days or is associated with other unusual menstrual symptoms, such as heavy bleeding.
Good luck
Q: How many days is it normal to feel ovulation pain during each ovulation cycle?
Is it normal to have ovulation pain before, during and after ovulating?
A: Sure, but that pain is many times related to PCOS and/or endometriosis. You should talk to your doctor the next time you have an appointment
Q: Do other people have ovulation pain? When is the best time to have sex to get pregnant?
I know the exact day I’m ovulating because I feel the ovulation pain, and I’ve tried having sex a day before and the day of ovulation, and still haven’t gotten pregnant. When should I have sex to get pregnant?
A: I usually have cramps during ovulation but they’re more mild than period cramps.
I would try to have sex a few days before ovulation and then through the rest and a day after as well because there is still a chance the day after. Make sure you lie on your back after you have sex to give the sperm a chance to reach your cervix.
Dont worry if you’re not getting pregnant right away. For some people its really hard, or harder than they expected. But trust me, it will happen and when it does it will be worth all the wait. Try not to think about it too much.
Good luck and I hope that helps. . . baby dust
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for ya girl!
Q: I have worse ovulation pain then I do menstrual cramps could something be wrong?
I have really bad ovulation pain every month. It’s good in a way because it helps me to confirm ovulation, but is this normal? I hardly have menstrual cramps at all but mid month when ovulation comes it’s awful. I am almost 100% certain it is ovulation pain because as soon as I start to feel the bad cramping I take an OPK and it is always positive. But is it normal to have bad ovulation pains? Could something be wrong?
A: I had this and was found to have endometriosis. The cysts caused by the endo on my ovaries was causing the pain. This may not be the case for you but it may be?
Good luck
Q: What does ovulation pain feel like and where does it occur?
I know what ovulation is but have never felt the pain and I am wondering what it feels like and if it occurs in the front or the back.
A: To me it feels like a dull ache on the lower left or right side (groin). Since the egg is released from alternate ovaries every month you may or may not feel it. I always feel it from the left and never from the right.
Q: Is it normal to get quite bad ovulation pain for a few days?
Since my periods restarted afte pregnancy and breastfeeding (1st one in November) I’ve been getting quite bad pain around ovulation. Most of the time I’d say it’s just discomfort but for one of the days I need to take a pain killer. It lasts for 2-3 days. Does anyone else get this?
A: Yep,Normally my ovulation pain only lasts a day but this month has been different. I am having sore achy pain now & it’s the 3rd day of it. More my left ovary than my right. I also had some sharp quick on & off pains last night low near my uterus, but toward the left side. I chart my temperatures & Fertility friend says I’m 4 days past ovulation. So I’m not sure if it’s “normal” but I think it is from the cyst after the egg pops out. I have had it & been pregnant…so I’m hoping it has something to do with a new pregnancy.
Are you trying to get pregnant? Maybe you ovulated 2 eggs this month? I have heard of ovulating & then another egg releasing within 24 hours…maybe that’s the cause for the pain for 2-3 days. Or google corpus lutem cyst. I think it can cause pain after ovulation. Good luck & congrats on your 1st baby!!
Q: When you feel ovulation pain, or pain near your ovaries, is that when the egg is released?
I felt a sharp pain on Saturday (24)afternoon for an hour or two and have continued to have aches and pains through Thursday (29). However last night I had two sharp burning pains just to the lower left of my belly button. How long do ovulation pains last? Oh, I did have some cramping Sunday night similiar to period cramps. Had sex on the 23-25, is pregnancy possible?
A: i feel it when i ovulate (sharp pains) and i also felt it both times i got pregnant (also sharp pains) so it is possible….ovulation pain for me lasts a few hours, the pregnancy pain lasted about 45min both times. but i guess everyone is different.
Q: How to distinguish ovulation pain from just plain cramps?
I’m a new charter… today is CD 15 of my first charted cycle. I haven’t seen a temp increase, but for the last two days I’ve been having some mild cramp pain on my right side, where I would normally feel cramps just before my period. I am optimistic, so I’d like to be able to say it’s ovulation pain, but I’ve had all of three periods so far this year. How do I know this is ovulation pain and not just regular old cramps?
A: My ovulation pains are more of a dull pain that will last all day long. And it’s usually the next day that I have my bbt spike. This month mine were actually pretty crampy…like period cramps. So, yes, it could be that you’re ovulating! Yay!
Q: Does ovulation pain occur before or during ovulation and for how long?
Does anyone know if ovulation pain occur before or during ovulation and for how long?

See your doctor if your ovulation pain lasts longer than three days or is associated with other unusual menstrual symptoms, such as heavy bleeding. Ovulation pain is also known as mid-cycle pain and mittelschmerz (German for ‘middle pain’).

Q: Is it possible to feel ovulation pain a week before period is due?
TTC and I felt ovulation pain a week before my period is due?
Is it possible that i ovulated late because my period was late by 7 days last month??
And can you concieve a week before your period is due?
A: You do get ovulation pain, I get it every month.. When you are ovulating this is the best time to conceive.
Q: When does the ovulation pain start, b4 or after the egg is released?
Yesterday I has some ovulation pain but I’m not sure if that means the egg was being released or if it already had been released and it was being pushed down my tube?
A: Many women report ovulation cramps at various times. I would think the cramping would start before ovulation and stop once the egg has ruptured, but you never know! Anyway, I would BD daily until the cramping stops, just to be sure. Good luck!
Q: How long does ovulation pain usually last for?
My mom says that i’m weird and that she never felt it when she was ovulating but right after I got off birth control I can sware I get weird pain and cramping mostly on my right side about every time I should be ovulating. How long does this pain usually last for? Last night it started about 4:30 pm and it lasted all night it seemed! Also after ovulation when should my cervical mucus stop being egg white and stretchy and when should my temperature rise? I still have slightly stretchy mucus (not as stretchy though) and my temperature is still the average for the month.
A: My pains last for 4 days or more! I asked the dr. if it was okay, and he said it was as long as it stopped after ovulation. Your cervical fluid should dry up after ovulation, and the day after ovulation is when your temp should be up at least .4 degrees Fahrenheit. If you still have watery or eggwhite fluid you can still get pregnant, as well as if you haven’t gotten a higher temp. If the pain is severe you might want to bring it up to your dr. Mine said it was normal, but he felt my ovaries to make sure he didn’t feel cysts. I get the pain on both sides!
