Q: Rib pain…?
I keeping getting a nasty sharp pain rite in the middle of my chest.. i have had it a few weeks, im now 27 weeks, it is getting worse and the only way to relieve it is to stretch backwards.. anyone else suffer from this and knwo any good positioons to sit in to help?
some people have said it is heartburn but it def isnt! it doesnt burn it is like a squshed rib pain!
A: I am also 27 weeks, I have felt this many times, especially when i am sitting on the couch typing on my lap top. It is casued by bad posture, and your growing tummy. everything inside of you is getting shoved upward, and causing your rib cage to move. It is normal. Sucks but normal. I have found that if I lay back in my lazy boy it relaxes the bones, and muscles. But it is the way we are sitting. good luck and congrats….boy or girl? I am due Jan 27th.

Q: What could be wrong if you have chest / rib pain while coughing?
My sister is 15 and has very bad allergies. Also has exercised induced asthma. She’s been coughing for 2 weeks now, and having alot of rib pain while coughing. So much, that it hurts to move her arm above her head. I’m trying to get my parents to call the doctor. What could possibly be wrong?
A: you have cartlidge between the ribs and constant coughing can cause inflamation in the cartlidge.. which in turn causes pain or discomfort . also you use muscles around the ribs when you cough and they get sore.
Q: Will my rib pain from coughing get better?
I’ve had severe rib and back pain for about 2 weeks now. The cough has been going on for about 3 1/2 weeks. It’s so bad that I dread when I cough or sneeze or breath deeply. I feel like it’s never going to go away! My friend is a ciropractor and he says that it may be my rib muscle, but he couldn’t tell cause he lives so far away. Only talked to him over phone. I can’t really go to the doctor cause I don’t have medical insurance.
A: You need to stop the cough first and yes, the rib muscles aren’t permanantly damaged but you can sprain your ribs…a doctor told me that and I found it astonishing.
Are you finding something for the cough? There are lots of over the counter things. Get rest and drink liquids. Go to Mexico and get antibiotics but don’t over use them.
Q: Having left sided rib pain that is worse when I bend over?
I have osteoarthritis in knees and lower spine. I also have had some herniated discs that responded well to steroidal injections. Now I have rib pain on the left side that is worse when I put pressure on it or lay on that side. It is not constant yet, but has been going on for a few days. My doctor sent me for an MRI but she went out of town for a week so I don’t know results. It really hurts when I bend over. Anyone else experience this?
A: Hello Juggler6, I just looked at your energy around your lower back and I found that your S2, S3, S4 and S5 Vertebrae and your left nerve coming of L5 is out of balance. I also found your right ribs position 10, 11 and 12 and your left ribs 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 energies are out as well. The energy around your body (Aura) is out of balance and is causing this pain to continue. I found your energy in your left knee (inside of the knee) is out of balance and your right knee energy was good (I felt you have irritation on the outside of the right knee). I felt a pull just above your left knee during this analysis (from the outside to the middle of the knee, felt like a muscle spasm) I looked at both of your sciatic nerves and found no issues. Your lower back felt hot when I did a remote body scan of the Sacrum area and confirms that you do have lower back pain.
I also found that your Lymph Nodes energy specifically (Paratracheal Nodes) this is located behind the Arch of Aorta of the heart.
Your body will adjust itself to eliminate pain and transfer the pain to different parts of the body to try to minimize the overall pain level. You are probably a little confused as to how I found this information about you without knowing you or even being in the same room with you. I’m an Intuitive energy healer and I work with doctors to understand how the body functions with the energy system. I will shift this energy around you to eliminate your lower back pain. I also found in your past that your Gallbladder energy is out of balance or removed. You should find some relief in the morning and in the next few days.
I also work with the emotion that has brought this pain into your body in the first place, weather this is a sports injury or a car accident. Think of the emotions that are trapped in your body and just talk to the experience and release it and this will also play a part in your healing recover. I hope this will help you in the coming days. I hope you find this information useful and again please forward any comments you might have concerning the above information (positive or negative). I generally ask you personally to do this analysis but I also have another way to ask to help you and this is if this is in your best interest that I help you and I got a “yes”. Good luck with this energy shift.
Please feel free to make any comments about my findings because only you know your body and if you have any other issue you would like to talk about. I do this as a free service to help eliminate pain in the body. Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions at www.brianamorse@gmail.com.
Q: How can I help rib-pain from excessive coughing?
My rib pain is in my back (the entire back) and the front in the ribs that are just below my chest. The front ribs are more acutely painful while the back ribs are more achey. I have been taking tylenol and ibuprofen with no improvement and have used a heating pad for the back ribs as well. I still have a cough, but it is getting better. I try not to cough full-out as much as possible, but sometimes I cannot control it. I have found that regardless ofthe severity of the cough I still have near-excrutiating pain.
A: sounds like you cracked a rib ( there is no treatment for it )
take 2 Aspirin – once in the Am, and in the PM
stop using the heating pad ( increases blood circulation to the site and can cause inflammation)
Q: How to ease rib pain from excessive coughing?
I have had the plague for almost a week now, and my ribs are throbbing in pain from all of the coughing. My throat is raw, too. I’ve been taking ibuprofen, and I’m on antibiotics now to cure the illness. But my ribs ache even when I’m not coughing. Is there anything I can do? Or do I just have to suck it up and deal with it until I’m better?
A: I had the same thing in early JUNE, and what helped me was COUGH SYRUP, ROBITUSSIN DM MAX does the trick and will stop the COUGHING!
Q: Is there any way to alleviate the rib pain?
I’m almost 26 weeks, and the pain in my ribs is terrible. I’ve read all of the tips about posture and this and that, and some things help, but mostly for when I’m up. The pain is the worst at night, when I lay on my side and all the weight feels like I am going to break my ribs!
Any ideas? Thanks.
A: I needed to use extra pillows to support the weight of my belly during my first pregnancy, which is when I had really bad rib pain. Try doing that, and if it works you may want to invest in a body pillow.
Q: Is it normal to have rib pain after an ab work out?
Yesterday I tried out this new abs class. I’m not overweight, but I’m not terribly physically fit, at least as far as abs are concerned. The class involved a variety of sit ups, using hand weights, and pilates. I noticed, a few hours ago, some pain in my ribs. Is this normal, or should I be worried?
A: There are little muscles, called the intracostals, in between the ribs, and they definitely can get sore with ab workouts/Pilates sessions. It will pass in a day or two. Overall chest pain radiating into the shoulders is circulation-related and could be a heart problem, but this sounds like just muscle soreness from the workout. If you were going to have heart trouble, you’d have had it during the workout, probably not a day later when the lactic acid buildup is highest. Next time you will be stronger. Keep up the good work!
Q: What did you other moms do for rib pain?
Baby is getting BIG!!! 33 weeks along now and he definitely favors the left side of my belly. He’s very much in my ribs and the pain is HORRIBLE!!! I’ve been icing, baths don’t seem to help. Anyone have any suggestions?
A: I sit up super straight and put my hand on top of my belly and slightly push down, other than that laying on my left side helps too
Q: what to do about right side rib pain during pregnancy?
Im 39 weeks pregnant and my baby has already dropped and everything. The past few days I have been having this pain on the right side on my bottom two ribs or something. I am a bit worried to what it may be. I’ve tried stretching, heating pad, I even tried one of those back patches but put it where I felt the pain. Nothing has helped. It feels as if it’s a really bad bruise but there’s no bruise on my skin. Help.
A: It could be from the baby kicking in that spot over and over again. Or it could be something more serious, like your gallbladder. I’d call your doctor and have their opinion. Best wishes.
Q: Should i go see a doctor for my rib pain?
Over a month ago i had pain around my lower left rib cage. The pain had seemed to have gone away, but came back a few days ago. i’ve now had the pain for a few days, and have been struggling to catch my breath even if i dont do any physical activity. and to also add, i jogged a few miles two days ago, could that be part of it? could i just be over thinking it?
A: yeah i would go see a doctor if its bothering you because even if its nothing at least you won’t worry about it after.
Q: I am 31 weeks pregnant – having horrible rib pain on right side bottom of ribs? How can I get rid of it?
My doctor says that my baby is positioned with her butt down (is this breech?) But it does not feel this way because I feel as though my baby’s feet are hitting my ribs area, it couldn’t be her arms causing this? Also, my pain radiates all through my upper middle back and all over my ribs at times.
A: There may not be anything you really do beyond having someone give you a nice massage. I have heard though, of Dr’s “turning” a baby; which is normally when they are breeched.
The discomfort is surely a result of how the baby is positioned, so massage and move your own tummy as much as possible!
Hope you feel better, one way or the other, its not much longer until your delivery!
Q: What could be causing my severe rib pain?
I’m having really bad rib pain. It feels like a crushing pressure on my ribs. It happened all of last night, then stopped around 3am, then it started up again about 10 minutes ago. It’s around 12:05am. any ideas on what could be causing this?
It’s the lower ribs on both sides.
It does seem to be hurting more on my side.
A: I wouldn’t be pondering as to what it could be…I would be on my way to the Emergency dept. If it isreally bad pain and feels like crushing pressure…something isn’t right. You could have broken/fractured your ribs, you could be having a pulminary embolism(blood clot in the vein of your lungs) , it could be a torn valve in your heart…it could be a number of things…..perhaps only just brusied ribs…but either way…….Better to be safe than sorry* Get dressed, call a cab or someone to take you and go to emerg* You’re not able to sleep because of the pain…….Don’t be silly* Go get it checked out. Best wishes*
Q: My child has rib pain on the left side what causes this?
I have a doctors appointment for my son this week but I was wondering what causes the rib pain. He told me it hurts when he moves.and is better when he lays down.I feel so sorry for him cause he crys in pain.
A: There is a condition called costchondritis, it makes the chest and or ribs hurt. It is caused by an inflammation of the tendons that join the ribs and lungs to the body. It can get worse or flare up when you have an infection like a cold or something. Its not serious and is the number one cause of chest pain in young people.
Or could he have fallen over and have knocked his ribs that way? Or run into a table etc that could have hit him in the ribs. If he has then he may have cracked one.
If you break a rib, they dont do anything for it, you just have to be careful and take pain relief.
