Q: 9 weeks pregnant and having a little pain left side and upper back behind breast bone is this normal?
lately i have ben having a discomfort on my left side and upper back could it be because i carry my two year old alot whose so attached to my hip right now or is it something to talk to Doctor about. thanks for your kind answers.

A: during pregnancy your breast do swell and grow as they prepare for a baby. this might be why you feel pain. this pain could be heightened because you are carrying your toddler. you should always tell you doctor, especially if you think you need painkillers but want them to tell you if that is fine. always, always, always ask your GP about anything you are unsure about, your health depends on that.

Q: sharp pain, left side, above hip bone and below rip cage?
I’ve got this HORRIBLE pulsing pain on the left side of my stomach, it’s just above my hip bone, and under my rib cage. I’m 16 so I don’t really think it could be anything too serious, but it has waves of pain, and i can’t take it anymore. However I’ve only had it for one morning, starting today, I’m kinda worried.

A: Go to a doctor and ask them to have tests done so as to get rid of the anxiety.
Try alternative therapies, such as a massage, to relax you.

Q: Terrible headache and pain on left side of neck under jawbone?
I never have headaches and for the past three days I have woken up with a terrible headache – medication doesn’t seem to help. Today though I started getting a throbbing pain on the left side of my neck just under my jaw. No fever or nausea. Any thoughts?

A: If you have had a headache for three days, and you don’t normally get headaches, you need to see your doctor. It might be from a tooth abscess, but there are lots of other things it might be, and you need to get it checked out.

Q: Husband for three days has been complaining about chest/breast pain. left side. Last night the pain started ?
on his back on the left side directly behind chest/breast pain. He then showed me his swollen left breast, which just started swelling. This morning his swelling to the breast went down. but, he still has pain. He had a heart cath done last year his heart is good. He is 51. We have no insurance until Dec. 1st. thru his employment.

A: I’m a nurse and am certainly not trying to scare you but I found this on the net. You need to go to a hospital right away. If there are any teaching hospitals (University) they are typically cheaper. You can always file for charity and the hospital actually prefers it than small payments drawn out for years. The other bad thing is it could possible be a “preexisting condition” when your new insurance starts. This is why we need Obama!!!!!

On examination, the left chest wall and left axilla were extensively hard, and the left upper limb was swollen. Ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) scanning disclosed a mass in the left breast, about 2 cm in diameter with an unclear margin, and swelling of the major and minor pectoral muscles. Needle biopsy of the breast mass confirmed invasive lobular carcinoma. As a radical operation was considered contraindicated, systemic and intraarterial chemotherapy using 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and Adriamycin (ADR) were performed. Nevertheless, the patient died of carcinomatous pleurisy 6 months after the initial onset of the disease.”

Q: how can i relieve chest pain (left side) right when it happens?
it happens when i lay on my stomach on the bed, typing on the computer, whenever i laugh.

A: You may need to visit a doctor first, don’t play with health.

Q: What could be causing the Pain on the left side of my head above my eye it is becoming very sharp?

I have this sharp shooting pain on my left side and it hurt even worse when I am standing! is that bad?

A: Sounds like Round Ligament Pain. It’s just the ligaments around your uterus stretching. I’ve got it pretty bad and mine started between 13-14 weeks. They can be pretty intense and sometimes you won’t even notice it. You get it from standing up too quickly, sitting down too quickly, turning around in bed, etc. It can be sharp shooting pains, stabbing pains, or a dull ache. They’re perfectly normal.

Edit to add: I just read about someone mentioning an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. You don’t have that. Ectopics are caught around 7-9 weeks. Your tube would have burst along time ago if it was ectopic. So don’t worry.

Q: Can you have appendix pain on your left side?
I have all the symptoms.
But my pain is on the left side.
so im wondering if its possible to have pain on left.

A: it could be a kidney stone to. cause i just had my appendix removed last week.

Q: 28 weeks pregnant and strange pain on left side that shocks down to my left leg..it feels like a cramp?
im 28 weeks pregnant and when i walk a certain way i get a really sharp pain on the left side of my stomach and it leads to my upper thigh..this never happend to me before..ive felt the baby move all day im just curious what these pains could be.

A: sounds like sciatica…I am SO sorry. Nothing you can do unless the baby moves off the nerve.

Q: 15 weeks pregnant and have bad back pain on left side, what is it?
I know it is not a kidney infection or stone because i have already had a urine culture. The pain is worse at night when I am laying on the couch or trying to sleep. Sometimes my left leg hurts as well, like I need to stretch it. What could it be? Any moms ever have this?

A: It’s just your body reacting to being pregnant. Like the baby is getting bigger so there is more pressure on your legs and feet and they swell up. It sucks, but it will get better. You go threw alot of stages in pregnancy, usually at 15 weeks its a scary stage because you dont know what to expect. You’ll be fine, just take care of your self and dont lift things or move against your body, eles you could really hurt yourself.

Q: Inner pain on left side of vagina wall?
I have a pain that comes and goes on the inside of my vagina wall. It’s only the left side and it varies from dull aching, to a sharp shooting pain. Aside for advice to go to the gyno (which I cant afford right now) does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be?

A: The county hospital has programs for people with no insurance.

Q: pain on left side of ovary and im 7 weeks pregnant?
today while i was napping i had a pain in my right side of my ovary..im 7 weeks pregnant and i go get an ultrasound next week…is that normal? its not like cramping or my uterus stretching it was in my ovary and on my left side.

A: Well you can’t really tell if there is pain in your ovary. An ovary is about the size of a grape, so you would have felt general lower abdominal pain. But this is a cause for concern. I would suggest calling your doctor’s office.

Q: Pain in left side when i breathe in deeply?
It has been going on and off since sunday, but randomly next to my chest on the left it hurts when i try to inhale deeply. I don’t smoke or anything; what do you think is wrong?

A: Hello there! Well, a couple of things come to mind here. If you have been recently ill with a chest cold, it may have turned into a deeper bacterial infection. Of course the only way to be properly diagnosed would be to see a doctor. This is however a very common cause of one sided, pain upon deep inhalation. It could also be muscle strain from either coughing or simply lifting something the wrong way. In either case, a visit to the doctor is in order. He or she will be able to diagnose you properly and begin treatment if needed. I hope that you feel better really soon. I also hope that this has somehow been of some help. Best of luck to you.

Q: pain on left side where the stomach ends and the intestine starts?
after eating pain gets worst, when I lie down straight it stops, left rib feels it juts out, and when i eat it feels like I am pregnant and my stomach is very hard, I drink perrier water to burp and it gradually eases up.

A: I would go to the doctor. That doesnt sound good and i dont think that you are going to get better on your own. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
