Q: Possible causes of throbbing shoulder pain?
I have had a pain deep in my right shoulder for a couple days now. It is not a sharp pain, buy it throbs. Like I said it’s deep in my shoulder, almost to my chest, and the pain covers an area, not a single point.

Q: What can I do with shoulder pain when I have to work?
I’m a master electrician having to lift a lot of things. I have pain even lifting a pipe. I can’t afford health insurance and I’ve had this really bad shoulder pain for 6 months now. I wish I could rest to let it heal or something but I can’t afford to for my family. What can I do while working to relieve it a little? Is there some sort of shoulder brace or a supportive pad that keeps my shoulder tight…like those knee support braces?

A: i’m sure that there might be some sort of support thing available…seriously,i recommend you to show your shoulder to some doctor…and get an x-ray done if you can…
but i think some supports for the shoulder are available….
hey,do you think it may be some cramp there?cuzz i fo,i know there are some creams available in any pharmacy fit for that purpose….i recommend you also try to take a holiday out whenever you find some free time…time will help it heal…you can also try taking painkillers for the purpose, but you gotta be within the limit for that….choose wisely…
i hope i was able to help you…atleast a bit!

Q: What can i get 4 back and shoulder pain?
Hi every1

I have a friend who suffers from really bad back ache and also really bad shoulder pain. The doctors have gave him pain killers but they are not working well. Is there anything else he could get and try.

Please let me know. Thank you.

A: If your friend makes an appointment to see a

QUALIFIED OSTEOPATH
He / She
may be able, to find the trapped nerve
that is causing the problem ,
and with skill full manipulation,
release it ,
the pain will then subside

Pain killers are not, a cure ,
but will give some relief for a while

His best course is to discuss his treatment ,
with a specialist

I hope he will soon be comfortable again

Q: What could I do for my shoulder pain?
I have a lot of pain in my shoulder, and I think its because I never rest it. I am a competitive swimmer, a flute player, and I carry around a lot of books all day, mainly because i have no choice.

So what could I do for it. Ice? Heat? Rest? What do you recommend?

Thanks so much! Its much appreciated!
That is the most random, unkind thing I have ever heard.

I’m being serious. I don’t need that.

A: A lot of tension builds up in the shoulder area, but it’s a common problem so don’t get worried. If the pain is unbearable take a few Advil or painkillers and ice it. If it just feels sore, then you can either stretch that area out or massage the area. Below, there’s a great video that shows you how to massage the shoulders to take away pain. You can even do the massage to yourself in just a couple of minutes.

Hope you feel better! :)

Q: What can I do to help get rid of shoulder pain when I run?
I don’t know if anyone has ever felt like this before, but when I run I always get this pain in my shoulder at least once during my workout. Sometimes it’s both shoulders and sometimes it’s just one. It just feels really tense and I feel like I’m suffocating, like it’s constricting my airway. My coaches checked me and I’m not running with clenched fists, they’re always relaxed, and my shoulders are never hunched. So I’m not running funny but I still get this really tense and tight feeling in my shoulders. I tried stretching but it hasn’t helped. Is it possible that it has something to do with my breathing? Since I feel like I can’t breathe when I get this sort of pain… any ideas?? If not– are there any exercises or breathing techniques I should consider? Thank you all for your repsonses I really appreciate it!
maybe it’s too much stress… maybe it’s because i run too much too fast– we’re in a xc camp running 5 – 6 miles a day plus push ups sit ups lunges squats, and what ever they can think of… I’ll definitely consider the physical therapist

A: Hello, My best advice is to see a PT. I had a torn rotater cuff in the right shoulder and was losing ROM (range of motion) we spent weeeeeeks in PT and it got so much better. I still do the exercises to keep it limbered up……If the PT doesn’t help see a “sports” doctor next….
Later darlin!!!!

Q: Shoulder pain when throwing a softball What could it be?
I threw my arm out when I was about 16. Ever since I have a pain on the top of my shoulder when I throw hard. I get fully warmed up, but when I go about 75% or more it hurts. No pain up till a hard throw, is this something that needs surgery to ever get better?

A: Certainly take it to a doctor to get an evaluation. How long ago was it?

Q: Ive been having shoulder pain in my left arm?
The pain is in my shoulder, shoulder blade, upper left arm, and lower left arm, sometimes I also feel alittle pain in my lower let calve. I have a appt with a Orthopedic Surgeon, but its not until the latter part of January. Does it sound like a pinch nerve? At night my arm is in such pain, what does it sound like to you?

A: Try a hot tub or hot shower and see if it gives you any relief. Nerve pain will not feel better after but muscles will.

Call your orthopedic doc. You don’t have to wait until you see him to make him aware of it and see what he wants to do.

Q: Has anyone had shoulder pain associated with an ovarian cyst?
I had a cyst on my right ovary about 3 months ago..Now I have the same feeling on the left side, but with shoulder pain this time. The last one on the right I had a bunch of symptoms but no shoulder pain?!

A: Sorry to hear that. I have the same problem. I read about the shoulder pain in the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Welsher. I swear by that book and believe every woman should own a copy.It is a symptom. You shouldn’t worry unless you have uncontrollable pain accompanied with a fever or nausea. If you feel you should be in a hospital you should get there. But to ease your mind shoulder pain is a side effect pain associated with ovarian cysts. You are not feeling anything new or dangerous.

Q: Can throwing up cause chest pain and shoulder pain?
Hi, well iv been having chest pain right above my sternum and right shoulder after taking deep breaths. I got drunk this weekend and threw up a lot, can that pain be caused by muscle spasms? Im a healthy 21 year old male and ruling out the possible cause of heart attack, the pains been there for almost 2 days and it seems to be graudually going away. If anyone knows anything i would appreciate it, thank you.

A: I have had this same experience from throwing up. When you throw up, a lot of your muscles in your chest, abs, and back, tense up. If you do this over and over again, your will definitely have some pretty sore muscles afterward. I would take some ibuprofen and try to stretch out the muscles, which should help them feel better.

Q: Can Chiropractors do anything for shoulder pain?
I went to an orthopedic surgeon and was told that I have arthritis in my shoulder. He recommended Arthroscopy, but I have heard stories about people’s shoulder not being the same.

I was not sure if Chiropractors can do anything for shoulder pain, or not. I would like to try an option before going thru any kind of surgery.

A: no they can not.

they are not drs and you really should nt let anyone maipulate your spine.

it was in the news recently that someone died 6 hours after going to the chiro. they burst a blood vessel in her neck

Q: What is causing left shoulder pain?
I am having left shoulder pain. It doesnt hurt when I keep it still and only hurts when I drop my shoulder down some or move it back, or if I have my arm straight down to my side and move it up straight above my head and back down. Any ideas what is causing this?
Thanks in advance!

A: You should use Tramadol, it is the best about it you can get information from here http://nurse25.notlong.com/1AAGo8t

Q: had a laparoscopic myomectomy on Monday. Has anyone felt horrible shoulder pain with this type of surgery?
My recovery seems to be going nicely except for shoulder pain! Not sure why? It has something to do with the CO2 gas they pump into you. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this weird, and awful pain with the shoulder. If so, what did you to do ease the pain?

A: I had that procedure done about 3 years ago. The CO2 is exactly why your shoulders hurt. The are able to get most of it out, but the gas that still lingers behind in your body is rising and trying to escape through your shoulders. I just took painkillers and used a heat pad. It goes away in about 3 days or so.

Q: What should I do about my shoulder pain?
Whenever I put any sort of pressure into my shoulder it hurts quite badly. Sorry, but I have no idea how I injured it. About 6 days ago I randomly noticed the shoulder pain. It feels like nerve/joint pain. I’m 15 years old. Know what I should do?

A: Try icing it (20 minutes out of every hour for a few hours) and taking some Advil to help control any pain and to relieve any inflammation you may have. If it’s not significantly better in another day or two you may want to talk to your parents about going to get it checked out.

Q: I have a painful gland in the back of my neck, stiffness when I turn my head and corresponding shoulder pain?
The gland is on the right side of my neck, I often have sinus and ear infections, I have recently developed the stiffness when I turn my neck, although the pain and stiffness are not constant. Often, particularly when I wake up I have pain in the corresponding shoulder blade in one particular place. I did have a preexisting shoulder injury, but I don’t know if this is related. Any advice?

A: Interesting question and symptoms. The swollen gland more then likely is in response to a recent infectious process, and since you don’t describe any other symptoms ie ear ache, sore throat, sinus pain, more then likely it was a mild viral illness. The swollen gland should become less painfull and go down in size over the next week or so. If it persits then you may want to consult your doctor for a more comprehensive evaluation and opintion. I don’t not think the shoulder pain is related, but you did mention it is worse in the morning, so perhaps you are chaning the way you sleep to avoid irritating the swollen gland. You may want to take a dose of tylenol or motrin an hour or so before bed and see if that doesn’t make a difference in your should pain in the morning.
