Q: pain in my right kidney from bad alcohol??
i think we had some kind of cheap Vodka drinks and next day i feel that my right kidney pains me a lot and sometimes difficult to breath! what kind of medicine shall i take or what shall i do? thanks
i took augmentin, is it good for that?
A: Please stop drink alcohol…..It won’t do any good for you. And take healthy way of living.
Drink lots of plain water.
Q: Kidney pain?
the pain is to the left of my spine…like i can’t move sometimes because it hurts so much!! i’m suspecting it’s my kidney (btw i’m only 15!! :[ ) but i want to make sure before i go to the doctors (i am already trying to figure out wat is causing the pain behind my eye, one problem at a time lol) so basically is this normal? to feel a pain in your back (not spine though! it's to the left of mine, right in the curvey part) is this my kidney??
so my question is if you have kidney problems, do they hurt during exercise?
oh and i don't do drugs or alcohol or anything like that, if that matters. :] danke!!
A: It could be kidney stones, but why take a chance? Go see your doctor. That’s the only way to be sure. Even if you could be sure without seeing your doctor (and you can’t), why would you want to trust your health to strangers you know nothing about? Make an appointment as soon as you can and ask about both the kidney pain and the pain behind your eye.
Q: Kidney Pain?
Lower Back Organ Pain – Left Kidney Hurts – Series Question Personal Health?
I am Eighteen and am not addicted to alcohol. Over the Christmas period I really drank a lot I mean continuous for over three weeks. I felt the left side of my body ad my kindey was enlarged. I thought I had drank too much and stopped. Fine I have not drank for three weeks and do not wan a drink. However I am getting this uncomfortable sometimes burning pain in my left kidney. Occasionally it is very uncomfortable and as I am eighteen am very scared as to what I have done to it. Please help…
PS It may be that I have a water infection or cold but nothing burns when I go to the toilet or drink liquids.
I have had a few weeks from drinking and then this is when the kidney burning pain started I am only eighteen
I also know my kidneys are just under my ribcage I am Biology student
A: You may just be dehydrated! Drink some water and if you it continues and gets worse I would suggest going to the doctor cause you may have a kidney stone.
But most likely since you mentioned that you were binge drinking, you seriously may just be majorly dehydrated.
Good luck!
Q: Kidney pain from drinking small amounts of alcohol..?
I am in college and rarely drink at all. I actually drank in high school a lot more than I do not (but still not that much)… On friday, I went to a party and had two beers. I was not very drunk, but the next day I was very hungover and had sharp pains in my kidneys. Does anyone know why this could be?
Actually this has happened before- I went on a senior trip with a group of friends over the summer and it happened when i drank a lot of alcohol. It was just odd to me that it happened from drinking two beers.
I think it could be that I was just dehydrated, but I don’t think it could have been getting hit or anything, because I was just standing around at a party. The most rigorous thing i did there was walk up and down stairs.
A: is this the first time it happened?
it could be unrelated. also…what did you do that night?? maybe somone pushed you a littler harder than you thought??
as for beign hungover from 2 beers…my friend is allergic to malt…he gets very sick when he drinks beer…liek alcohol poisoning form 3 or 4 beeers…maybe you ran into that…
the kidneys also work with flushing out urine and such…maybe you are unable to process alcohol well or you are so dehydrated and the alcohol pushed you ove rthe edge.
make nt next time you drink. waht you drink…how much and how much food and water you had that day.
try to stay hydrated before drinking alcohol and try a water between drinks. also, try soemthign other than beer or seomthign with malt in it…see ifit mkaes a difference.
if this keeps occuring, i would talk to your doctor to rule out anything else or underlying problems that may come out later even without alcohol consumption…
a hangover is basically severe dehydration…thats why i said it mgiht be your kidneys jsut feeling dried up and such…
Q: Drinking alcohol causing kidney pains. Any suggestions?
When I start to drink more then 2 glasses alcohol my kidneys start to hurt. Any suggestions or ideas on what is going on?
Ok just for the record I did quit drinking after I felt this pain.
A: Normally, alcohol will damage your liver, before the kidney.
You could have a kidney stone, or something else. Seeing a doctor is a good idea.
You also may be experiencing an ulcer, alcohol affects the stomach lining too, and the stomach is near the kidney.

Q: How harmful is alcohol for someone with 75% kidney function?
My boyfriend was born with a birth defect that caused him to undergo intense surgery about 7 years ago. It left him with his kidneys only functioning to 75% of their natural ability. He isn’t a heavy drinker, but will get drunk every so often, maybe once a month or so. Last night he drank a lot, and now he has pains in his lower back, which I believe can be kidney pains, does anyone know anything about that?
My question is, is it okay for him to drink?
A: Yes, drinking is very bad for your kidneys. Can even lead to cancer.
Q: What painkillers are safe to take for kidney pain if I’m already taking Antihistamines?
I’m on Fexofenadine hydrochloride tablets and mometasone furoate nasal spray which are both Anithistamines but I was told to avoid taking pain killers with them. The only problem is that my right kidney has been hurting like hell all day and it’s getting worse, I really need something for the pain?! I have also just come off antiboitics so I dunno if that could be causing it?
Will drinking shit loads of water help kidney pain?
To be honest i’m tempted to drink a hefty amount of alcohol to help the pain but alcohol i would presume would just make kidneys worse?
A: If your kidney is hurting maybe you ought to see a doctor!
..
Q: Can drinking to much alcohol cause a stinging pain when urinating?
I drink maybe about 6-8 pub measures worth of home made alcohol probably about 40-45% on an allmost nightly bacis and a couple pints of Ale 5%. could this have damaged my kidney/liver and so cause me pain when pissin, i have a stinging burning sensation each time i piss, Its not an STI i know that i just want to know if it is the alcohol causing it
A: it sure is sounds like you have a urine infection bets thing to do is drink as much water as u can you need to flush ur kidneys threw if a was you mate ad be laying off the drink for about a week hot water with lemon is the best thing to detoxify yourself when the pain stops just drink plenty H2O in the day time if ur drinking on a night time hope ya get sorted out..
Q: causes of minor kidney pain?
i have very minor pains that just started this morning. they are two small cramp like pains. one is on the left, very close to my bladder area and the other is on the right, further away from the bladder and closer to where i would expect my kidney to be. i cant even feel these minor pains unless i tighten my abdomen. the thing about this is that they are not in symmetrical places, so im not sure if its even my kidneys. i drank alcohol last night, and im pretty sure that is the cause, but i drank less than normal. so what should i do? if it goes away, would it be okay to drink again? is it my kidneys?
A: cranberry juice and 123455 gallons of water lay off the sauce brotha
Q: should you drink alcohol if you have a suspected kidney infection?
think I have Kidney infection ( pain in side, peeing alot) just thought have I done more damage before giong to docs? I”ve had 4 smirnoffs ‘n’ coke
worst thing is can’t go to docs til wed (work
)
A: Get an emergency appt tomorrow if you are no better, all doctors keep back appts for emergencies. If its a kidney infection you could end up in hospital. Drink plenty of clear fluids around 500ml per hour, the smirnoff and cokes won’t hurt at all don’t worry. You need to flush out the bacteria. Cranberry juice is very good as it helps stop bacteria sticking to your bladder wall.
Q: Distinguishing back pain or kidney pain?
Ok, I was dead cert that i had a lower back injury(which does go away after I have neurofen) however theres a small doubt in the back of my mind that it may be my kidneys hurting, thought I didnt think so at first. Only because I am quite a frequent drinker at weekend, i don’t drink silly but i do do it often. is there any way i could distinguish if its back pain or kidney pain? I Was sure it was spine/back pain in my own mind as ive had it a few weeks and it only really happens when i bend down or lift something a bit heavy, anti inflamatory makes it go away, do you think neurofen would make the pain go away if it was my kidneys causing the pain? it also goes away after i’ve rested it and had some sleep, and dosent happen randomly only when i bend/move in certain places. the occasional pain does feel dead center of my lower spine, but then again kidneys are actually closer to the lower spine than i thought which is why i got a bit questionable.
I also am trying not to combine the tablets with alcohol since i’ve heard it can be dangerous, I usually use the neurofen gel for my back at weekend if i’m going out. Any suggestions appreciated! Its just i’m not the best with blood tests so i’d like to get some opinions before i forced myself to maybe go the docs.
A: Diabetes causes kidney pain. Check your blood sugar.
Q: Dull kidney pain getting progressively worse over time?
I’ve had dull kidney pain over the last 6 or so years. It started out where I’d occasionally wake up with what I thought was mild back pain that would fade away within minutes of urinating.
Recently it’s become progressively worse especially when I try to drink more water. The pain will start as much as ten minutes before I have to urinate, and the intensity depends on how much fluids I drank prior to it.
At its worst the pain will make me feel like I could throw up if I don’t get relief soon.
I’ve reached the point where I almost have to maintain a state of mild dehydration to avoid this situation. Water causes the most pain because it seems to go through me the quickest and all at once, followed by liquid-y soups and fruit juices like cranberry and orange. I’ve started drinking pedialyte to keep hydrated and because it goes through me slower and rarely causes me pain.
Furthermore there is no pain or irritation while urinating or anywhere else suggesting a urinary infection. I’m physically fit, 23-years-old, nutrition-conscious and I rarely eat meat. I only drink alcohol at social occasions when I’ll have one glass of wine or a bottle of beer with food. I don’t smoke or drink any sweetened carbonated beverages.
The reason I haven’t seen a doctor is because my company dropped their health coverage. I’m shopping for personal heath insurance and I don’t want this to suddenly become a pre-existing condition.
A: the law as it applies to you: if you’ve not been treated in the previous eight months for a condition, then the insurance industry cannot call it a pre-existing condition, they will try, but just remind them of the law and they back down quick.
next, you likely have a kidney stone and you need treatment very soon.
Q: Endometriosis & Alcohol does it make pain worse?
Back in July I was drinking too much.. I noticed when I started drinking I would get this pain in my back like kidney/flank pain.
So, I went to the doctors and told them honestly that I had been drinking a bit to much over the past 3 months. I had an ultra sound and nothing showed up but an ovarian cyst.
Well, the drinking stopped b/c I couldn’t handle the pain but the visits to the doctor kept coming because of the pain.
Finally, after months a doctor came to the conclusion that I may have Endo not because of the alcohol but all the red flags went up when we sat down and went over my history of menstrual pain etc…
Pain during sex to the sharp pain in my hip, and debilitating painful periods.
Question could excessive drinking make the symptoms of Endometriosis worse? Does anybody know anything about Endo & alcohol?
Thank you
A: I have endo, and if I have more than a glass of wine or one single drink, I want to die. Drinking too much is bad for you all around, but it does aggravate endo. You should also avoid caffeine and chocolate. If you can quit drinking all around, I’d suggest it. From an article:
Some women report relief by avoiding dairy products and having a diet rich in fiber and low in saturated (animal) fats. Fiber-rich foods (such as fruits and vegetables) along with plenty of fluids (water or juice, not caffeine) are not only healthy but help prevent constipation, which can intensify symptoms. If women choose a diet that limits dairy products, they should be sure to have sufficient calcium from other sources.
Certain fat compounds called omega-3 fatty acids, which are in fish oils, may have specific anti-inflammatory effects. They are found in certain oily fish (sardines, mackerel) and can be obtained in supplements. Supplements may be labeled either omega-3 fatty acids or EPA-DHA (which are the important compounds). Evening primrose oil and black currant oil, found in health food stores, contain similar fatty acids that may be helpful.
Some evidence suggests that soy products (e.g., tofu, soy milk) may protect against endometriosis. Soy contains estrogen-like compounds that may actually protect against problems that are triggered by a woman’s own estrogen. More research is needed.
People with endometriosis should avoid alcohol, caffeine, and chocolate. Women who drink large amounts of beverages with caffeine appear to have an increased risk for endometriosis, possibly because caffeine contributes to increased levels of the estrogen, estrone. Heavy alcohol use (which also increases estrogen levels) is also associated with endometriosis.
Q: Is it cancer? Can you still get loin flank (kidney pain) weeks after infection? Got an ultrasound coming.?
Since last year I have been getting the odd intermittent kidney ache (dull throb) but it is not painful just a twinge. I didnt go to the doc at first as it only usually happened after alcohol at first and quite a few people I know said they got it sometimes too. However a month ago during a routine medical at work the doctor tested my urine and said I had a kidney infection. My urine got tested at the lab and it was said I had a nasty UTI. Anyway after 3 weeks of different antibiotics my doc tested my urine again and only small traces of bacteria was found which suggested it was probably cleared. However, I am still every day (some worse than others) getting this throb in my left kidney every now and again and twinges. I had an xray and stones were ruled out and today I have an ultrasound but im dreading cancer. I am 25, not lost any weight and feel generally healthy. What else could this be and has anyone else had pain after the infection?
A: Stop worrying be a good start..The infection not finished mate, more antibiotics coming up i feel..Drink cranberry juice, best antioxident there is,also take some honey now & then, not on bread a bloody great tbs of it straight..Be bouncing around like a two year old in no time..Get the cranberry though, buckets of it..Good luck with your ultrasound, sure you be “OK”..Hope i helped a little..Stay well & happy.

A: You have a kidney infection. It may or may not be related to your alcohol consumption – I’ve had several kidney infections and rarely ever drink. Kidney infections have never given me the urethra infection symptoms (burning during urination) Go to the doctor and they’ll prescribe you antibiotics to clear up the infection. It most likely will not clear up on it’s own and the infection will damage your kidneys if allowed to go too long. You may need a renal efficiency test (I think that’s what it’s called) and your urine protein levels checked as it’s been 3 weeks already. I never let an infection go that long and my kidneys were in pretty rough shape by the time I got to the doctor with my last infection.
Easy check for kidney problems – Have someone put their hand flat on your back over the offending kidney and give the flat hand a solid tap with the other hand. If there’s a problem, you’ll know. My doctor did that during my last infection because he was suspect at me getting another infection so soon and I nearly doubled over.
