Q: Coughing, Headache and crucial pain in Kidney area?
A cousin of mine currently suffers from a very bad cough and headache. But on top of all that, her kidney area is engulfed in pain. She doesn’t drink or smoke, or do anything that could harm her. Just days before, she was running and exercising which gave her pain in her body.
This kidney area pain has been there consistently for one night, in which she couldn’t sleep at all.
Could this be lack of fluid and vitamins?
A: Back pain, which I’m sure that is all she has, is muscles that are pinched and need to be released. These are things that the running the day before could have helped in making happen. Sometimes it’s like each thing we do can bring us closer to making the problem happen and then it ends up with one last trigger part and it feels like it happened all at once. She should be able to release the muscles and get out of that pain by doing the following:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.
Q: I have lower back pain (sort of kidney area) indigestion and flatulence. What’s going on please?
It’s a dull constant ache ..sometimes if I bend it results in a searing pain over area. I’m on antibiotics. I take natural yoghurt every day and acidophillus tabs.
A: Your daily natural yogurt may be too much for your system. there are a lot of bacteria in these things. try taking a break for a couple of days and see if it helps.

Q: Please help! Last nite I had sharp pain in my left kidney area.?
the kidney area pain stopped but this morning I had bloood kinda like a period but not as bright red or as much………wat does it mean!
A: You may have a kidney stone that is passing.
I suggest you make an emergency appointment with your regular Doctor for a urine test and examination.
If you are passing a stone, then a hospital stay and/or strong pain medication is called for.
Q: Kidney area pain.?
For the last month or so, I’ve been experiencing pain in my left side when I take adderall. The pain is in my left kidney area. It doesn’t happen everytime, but is increasing as time goes on. Sometimes i have difficulty urinating too. I have a Dr.’s appointment in a couple of days. What would this be and what can I take to make it go away(herbal pills, foods, ect…)
A: It’s a good thing that you have a Dr.’s appointment in the next couple of days. I neglected seeing a doctor and tried all the different herbs, supplements, etc. and now I have serious kidney problems that have reduced my kidney functions PERMANENTLY down to about 25%! I probably don’t have much longer to go because I will refuse dialysis if they drop down to that point where dialysis is required.
Don’t miss that appointment and don’t try to mess around with any pills, foods, herbs, etc. that promise results but only wind up delivering you to the nearest hospital.
Trust me, you don’t want to fool around with this.
Q: Possible causes of kidney area and abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, and fatigue?
Please don’t just tell me to see a doctor! I’ve been going to the doctor for a month now and so far they have no idea what’s wrong with me. I’m waiting on some more test results, but hoping that somebody on here may have had similar issues that could shed some light on the situation.
Here are my symptoms:
-Kidney area pain on the right side (Originally thought it was a kidney stone, but all tests show my kidneys are fine)
-Abdominal pain also on the right side slightly above and inward of my hip bone
-Very small amount of blood in my urine
-Slightly elevated white blood cell count and higher levels of calcium (still within “normal” range)
-Nausea which occasionally turns in to vomiting
-Fatigue (Sometimes mild, sometimes feels like mono)
-Very small, itchy bug-bite type things all over my body (Possibly unrelated. I haven’t given my dogs a flea treatment in awhile, but my husband doesn’t have any “bites”)
Most of these symptoms come and go as far as extremity. It seems like each day, or portion of the day a different symptom is the dominant issue and the others are barely noticeable. Sometimes they all come on together. Like I said, this has been going on for a month now, and I’m starting to get scared because of where the pain is and the vomiting. NOT good signs…
About two weeks before this started, I was diagnosed with a sever Vitamin D deficiency, my doctor said it was the second lowest she’d ever seen! They had me taking 50,000 UI of vitamin D once a week, they have since told me to stop, but my problems are still occurring.
I have had an x-ray, CT Scan and ultrasound to search my abdomen and everything looks normal. No inflammation, no stones. I’ve had a 24 hour urine collection, as well as a LOT of blood tests (sorry don’t know what they were all for) but everything is normal. I am currently waiting on test results for Hyperparathyroidism. I have been doing a lot of my own research and everything I’ve found, keeps pointing me to this, so I requested the doctor to run the tests.
I was laid off last week and my insurance is only good until the end of the month, so on my next appointment I want to go in with a list of things for them to check before my insurance is up, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for the quick response! I forgot to mention that before all this stuff started, the doctor thought I had an ovarian cyst… I’ve now had two ultrasounds to look for that and I’m waiting on the results.
Just got test results… No Hyperparathyroidism, and I have an ovarian cyst, but it’s pimple sized. The doctor said it’s so small that they wouldn’t bother removing it and it’s not causing my current issues.
A: Could be pregnancy, micro cysts or ulcers, stomach virus/bug, an internal infection, hemorrhaging, botulism, or just consistant cramps. A friend of mine had somewhat similar issues. And the doctors honestly didnt know $&*@

A: Does he really have cancer of Liver, Lung and Stomach? Or are these just metastasis from one malignant organ? If so, why can’t he just not have metastasis to the Kidney?
Q: Can anyone help me with this back/kidney area pain? Please!?
I have had this pain for a couple of days now and it is really starting to get to me. It’s in my lower back on both sides. It is uncomfortable in any position, sitting, standing or laying down. It came on without a fall or injury……i just woke up with it one morning. Please help
A: YOu may want to take notice of whether your urine is obnormal in colour.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, kidney ache is common in people who do not drink enough water and too much caffiene. Just drink water for a few hours and if it persists then go and see doctor.
I wish you the best of health
Q: What could my pain in my kidney area be?
Whenever I use my back muscles in the left kidney area, I get intense, sharp pain. I have gotten this a few times over the past few months. Let me clarify: whenever I move that involves muscle in that area it hurts really bad. it normally lasts for a few days and then goes away for a couple weeks.
A: That does sound like a muscle that is pinched. It can go undetected until you are using it and then it comes out flow blown and there is no denying it. When it no longer has the strain on it it goes back to rest but it really isn’t released of the problem. Here is how you can release the problem and be rid of it for good:
Q: What could a sharp pain in the kidney area mean?
I am not saying in the kidney but around that region.
I was laughing while watching a funny show on TV when I had a sudden sharp pain in the region; it really hurt but after 5 minutes or so, I was fine. This happened to me before but it turned out to be nothing. What could this mean?
P.S.- It was kind of like a really bad cramp.
A: Too many fizzy drinks like soda, not enough water, kidney stones. Generally your body will give you warning signs. It is up to you to interpret them. You should take your weight, divide in half and the total is what you drink in ounces of water every day. This is for a minimum for inactive people. Active people should drink their weight in ounces every day. Drink some cranberry juice. It does help also.
Q: lots of pain in right kidney area any ideas?
Last November i went to the doctor for it got medicine for infection and it never went away i have been to three doctors all of them tell me the same thing but i am sure that that is not what it is!! i keep sharp pain in my right kidney and ovary area. i am in extreme pain . i do not know what is wrong, it doesn’t hurt unless i am relaxed and not moving. i am just trying to see what everyone else thinks it is. it has been about a year since the first time i started having the problem and the pan just wont go away. please help if u can.
A: Ovarian cysts or kidney stones? It could be anything. An ultrasound would identify either of these two. Keep ‘nagging’ doctors until you find out.
Q: Right sided pain in kidney area?
Right sided pain in kidney area, sometimes radiating to right shoulder blades. Occasional watery stool. Occasional pain in right lung area when taking deep breath. Chest X-ray shows normal lung function, regular GI x-ray appears normal. Blood test shows slightly elevated liver function. Urinalysis showed regular kidney function.

Q: Why do i have pain in my left kidney area after i run?
After running or walking up a few flights of stairs i get a pain (hurts to breathe in a lot or out a lot) under my left rib, its somewhat near the kidney area but i’m not sure if it is the kidney. This only happens when i run or walk a lot, i can do pushups/sit-ups fine, but can’t run. I’m 16 so i know i shouldn’t be having this pain.
A: I’m not sure but you might have a inguinal hernia which is common on males. Or you could of pulled a muscle. You should stop doing physical stuff until you see a doctor because you might just be making things worse.
Q: Lately when I get agitated I get a pain around my kidney area which ?
almost creases me in half. My Doctor just shrugs it as one of those things. Last week I was attending a funeral and it started again. Surely this can’t be just one of those things can it?
Fright or flight???
Ginny I don;t actually drink what you mentioned but thanks for the advice anyhow.
A: Stress and depression can have a lot of negative effects on your body. Your body is reacting to your stress. It can back up your digestive system, your bowels… that sounds like what you’re going through. I experience the same problem sometimes. Actually, quite often.
Q: I’ve recently started having minor to major pain in my kidney area. Any Ideas?
I’ve recently started having minor to major pain in my kidney and groin areas along with what feels like maybe constipation or gas (not sure as I’ve never really had a problem in those areas). Does anyone have any clue what’s wrong with me? I have a very physical job and I’m afraid I may have pulled something there and I don’t want to damage anything any further if there is a problem.
A: You could have anything from a strain or pulled muscle, kidney or bladder infection, swollen kidney, appendicitis (right side only), kidney stone, tumor…. the list is rather long, and all of these require you to see your doctor. At the least, you should have a CT scan and/or IVP to determine the cause, and also a blood test to see if you have an elevated white blood cell count.
Your doctor will need to know if you’ve had any injuries lately that might have caused the pain, and when it started. A punch in the gut, lifting something the wrong way, etc. If it was work-related, it’s possible worker’s comp may cover the cost.
